Information for Clients

What I Do

I am a lawyer practicing criminal law in the Greater Toronto Area, including the Peel, York and Durham Regions. The bulk of my practice consists of defending clients charged with offences under the Criminal Code, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Youth Crimial Justice Act at trial in the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice. Occasionally, I will represent clients in appeals, defend non-criminal charges (for example, traffic offences) or represent the interests of complainants or other third parties in criminal proceedings.

Free Initial Consultation

My preference is to sit down with a potential client for a thorough discussion of his case. I do not charge a fee for this initial consultation. Sometimes, due to urgency, this has to be done over the phone, but I believe that this is not as productive as a meeting in person. Please call me to schedule a meeting.

Housecalls

Given the importance to me of a face to face meeting, I am quite willing to visit clients at home or another location, especially if they have mobility difficulties. I also visit clients who are incarcerated.

Evenings and Weekends

I am available on evenings and weekends. Please call in advance.

Legal Aid

I do occasionally accept Legal Aid. Please let me know if you have a Legal Aid certificate or you need information on how to apply.
